We will take all evidence under consideration, but please note that we may not not necessarily accept them.

We don't use the pairing option when filtering on on ff.net since many people don't actually use it when posting their fic. If you can provide evidence that their are enough fic that aren't of the ship, we'll add it.

I'm saying this in the hope that you may run your fest without resentment from your participants. Read your phrasing, your wording, again. This is an asshole post. You've declared your mind can't be changed even with evidence, yet you are going to put another person through all the trouble and misery of trying to find evidence which may or may not exist. And what kind of evidence would you even accept? Because I can link you to meta posts about underrepresented ships but again meta posts are written by one individual but I can't tell how much research she did prior to writing her post.

So if you have no intention of changing your mind, just say you're rejecting these ships. There is no need of making a post that only creates frustration and resentment for your participants. I'm sure that as a mod you don't want such negative feelings associated with your fest.

Someone is always going to think we're assholes for rejecting things, and sometimes we have to be. Evidence provided for legitimately small ships will very likely be accepted, but every year there are people who try to nominate their juggernaut ships (see Bruce/Tony above), and we would not reconsider a ship like that.

We've clarified what we mean by evidence.

This is evidence for a fandom more than a ship! I nominated WWE and NXT as separate fandoms and while the pairings themselves were accepted the fandoms were merged together into WWE. NXT doesn't have a distinct fandom tag on AO3 but it should - it is it's own distinct thing under the larger WWE umbrella. It has its own branding, its merchandise is separated into it's own section on the WWE online shop (http://shop.wwe.com/nxt/), it airs on the WWE streaming channel and has its own specials, has its own titles, etc. When an NXT wrestler comes to the main WWE shows like Raw and Smackdown it's considered a debut.

Sorry for the delay. We've been discussing this. At this point we have six different wresting groups/organization nominated. As we wouldn't allow nominations for single sports teams, we're going to put them all under Professional Wresting.

So wait, they would all be one fandom? The different promotions aren't at all like teams in the same league, they're different companies with different rosters all airing on different networks, some of which are defunct now. They're all their own fandoms with the exception of NXT and WWE, and even then NXT is distinct under the WWE umbrella. It would be like putting Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl in as CW because they're all superhero shows, or even better as an analogy Batman, X-Men and Saga all under "Comics." WWE, WCW and LU are the same genre, not the same team.

I'm fine with NXT and WWE being merged ultimately, although I do still wish otherwise, but they certainly ALL shouldn't be merged!

Chiming in to give a slightly different analogy, I'd argue it's like saying that Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, and The Music Man are all going to be put together under "musicals" because they all feature people singing and dancing in them. NXT would be to WWE what "Eliza!" the hypothetical musical about the story of Hamilton's wife as a child, is--possible to consider it the same thing, though arguable. But Lucha Underground, WWE, and WCE have distinct casts, storylines, moods, even rules for the whole universe! There are dragons and time travelllers in Lucha Underground, for example, while a promotion like Ring of Honor wouldn't possibly have any whiff of the supernatural. I know it's a weird art form that doesn't seem to have any analogy that really clears things up, but putting them all in one fandom is not at all the best way.
