Nominations are now open!

Nominations are now open here!

All nominations for Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man/2/3, Captain American: The First Avengers/The Winter Soldier, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and the Avengers will all be grouped under the Marvel Cinematic Universe tag.

All nominations X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine, and X-Men: Days of Future Past will be grouped under the X-Men (Movieverse) tag.

All nominations for New Who and Classic Who will be grouped under the Doctor Who tag. (This does not apply to Torchwood and other stand-alone spinoffs.)

DCU (Comics) and Marvel (Comics) will not be accepted as fandom nominations as they are too broad. Please choose specific series.

As long all versions of the canon are nearly identical and have the same characters then the "All Media Types" fandom tag is an acceptable nomination.

Update: Please remember to check the list of ineligible pairings before posting your nominations. Thanks!

Is Agents of SHIELD also going to be grouped under MCU, or is it going to be its own fandom?

2 Quick questions:

The Hunger Games, has a book tag and movie tag in AO3, the pairings I want to nominate are in both versions, but I wasn't sure in which I should request. I put my noms under Hunger Games - All Media Types, but I can edit to anything you prefer.

Is it ok to nom Heroes of the Olympus as a separated thing? I want characters that are in that set of books, instead of the whole Percy Jackson series?

Thank you! I just wanted to be sure. So far, I'm watching the movies and I think so. At least the characters I'm sure.

I nominated for Marvel 616, is that specific enough or should I edit it to a series?

ETA: I edited one of them to a series, but that's hard to do for the other pairing. :/

Okay, great, thanks!

I nominated Melinda May/Natasha Romanov and it was rejected. As it only has 67 fics tagged with it on AO3 I assume it wasn't rejected because it wasn't rare enough. . . so I can only assume it was rejected because it counts as crossover pairing? If that's the case, I'd like to object to your decision to make Agents of SHIELD a separate fandom from the MCU. They're part of the same franchise, all taking place within the marvel universe designated Earth-199999. There has been a LOT of crossover between the movies and the TV show (it is, in fact, designed that way) and it seems unfair that Maria Hill/Melinda May can be a part of the fest because Cobie Smulders had time to make a cameo appearance on the show, but Melinda May/Natasha Romanov can't because Scarlett Johansson hasn't (yet).

Okay, cool, thanks. I guess I looked too fast, didn't see it there.

There are some issues with the video game fandoms.

Aigis/Arisato Minako and Arisato Minato & Elizabeth are both under Persona 4. None of those characters appear in Persona 4.

Arisato Minako is a fan nickname for a character and has been jossed. Her name is Shiomi Kotone and is her only canonical name.

Arisato Minato has three different canonical names depending on the medium. There is Arisato Minato, Yuki Makoto and Shiomi Sakuya. Yuki Makoto is the one used in the movies.

The last is the Atelier ships. Only one of the ships is from Atelier Rorona. The rest are from the Atelier of Dusk games. They're all from the Atelier series, just only one is for the actual specific name listed.

Something must have gone wrong with a person's nominations, because there is a pairing nominated for Battlestar Galactica (2003) that belongs to a different fandom. Galen Drache/Iliana Harman/Raksha Keller belongs to Night World. I have no idea what Night World is, but I do know that these are not BSG characters.

Not that I don't love the pairing, but how did Loki/Sif get in through the MCU? I came up with 403 works with the relevant filters applied.

For the record, how would you like us to nominate Final Fantasy VII pairings? (I changed my signup from "Compilation of FFVII" to "Final Fantasy VII" because that was how it was listed last year, if I remember correctly.)

Just realized I have a question: is it okay to nominate a pairing that is rare in the MCU for MCU if it is NOT rare in the comics?

[identity profile] the-iceland.livejournal.com 2014-06-04 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I've noticed there are many pairings under "Unassociated Characters & Relationships" category that actually should be under "Marvel Cinematic Universe", "Game of Thrones (TV)", "Doctor Who" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV)".

That means, I suppose, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV)" doesn't fall under "Marvel Cinematic Universe", am I correct?

How should we categorize pairings from the same universe, but under different fandom tags?

example:
Brock Rumlow (MCU)/Mike Peterson (AoS)

or from Star Trek:
Tuvok (VOY)/MU Jules Bashir (DS9)

*unsure*

Quick question: is Justice League (Pre-52 Era) an acceptable tag? Please, let me know if I should edit that tag, thanks. :)

I'd like to contest the rejection of Mycroft Holmes/John Watson for Sherlock (TV). When I filtered for 'Complete', '>1000' and 'Mycroft Holmes/John Watson', I got 229 fics.

[identity profile] shadownashira.livejournal.com 2014-06-06 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
I see, I didn't think of checking FF.net. Is 250 fics also the limit for FF.net?

I've had some trouble nominating Katniss Everdeen/Johanna Mason under Hunger Games Series - All Media Types. When I tried, the form told me that someone had already nominated it under Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins and that all nominations had to be unique. Can I assume that the Katniss/Johanna tag will be subsumed under the All Media Types tag and I don't have to worry about it being included?

[identity profile] ghostonfilm.livejournal.com 2014-06-08 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
It looks like the Katniss/Johanna tag was also somehow synned to Supernatural, so it's showing up there too.

I have a question. I nommed some pairings for Doctor Who that got approved but that haven't showed up under the Who section. For some reason they are all under 'Unassociated Characters & Relationships'.
The pairings are:
Eleventh Doctor/Donna Noble (DW)
Jethro Cane/Tenth Doctor (DW)
Second Doctor/Jamie McCrimmon (DW)

Do you have an idea as to why they have been moved there and not under Doctor Who?

[identity profile] galfridian.livejournal.com 2014-06-12 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
One of my nominated pairings (under The Raven Cycle) doesn't have a ship tag. I know this typically isn't an issue, but it's also a small book fandom, so the two characters also don't have their own tags. Will that be an issue?

[identity profile] galerian-ash.livejournal.com 2014-06-15 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I just nominated The Incredible Hulk -- but it's the old TV series, so it shouldn't be grouped with the MCU titles. Just thought I'd mention it! :)
