Ian/Emily: Even my mom thinks they were in love!
Why do I want to pair up a murdering arms dealer and an FBI/Interpol agent? Because I really think that for a while, Emily WAS Lauren, and even though Ian was a really bad guy, he was really, really good to her and his son. He was so fierce in EVERY aspect of his life--from his 'business' to his family to his lover. And she loved that, and I always kind of imagine that a part of her wanted to stay Lauren forever and live that life. I mean, what girl doesn't secretly dream of a handsome, rich man who would literally KILL for her? It was doomed from the start, of course, but it's what happened in between the start and the horrible, bloody end that fascinates me.

Date: 2012-06-28 07:55 pm (UTC)Harry/Charlie -- because Harry needs a hot man to make him forget everything, and I think only Charlie has the staying power to dom him.
Draco/Twins -- All the mischief could make Draco laugh a bit.
Rony/Lucius - I have a thing with Lucius making Ron obey and showing him he can be taking care of.

Alastor Moody/Minerva McGonagall: I've written this pairing plenty of times, though sadly not in English (yet!). Maybe someone will prompt me though! They're easily the cutest, most infuriating, funniest, and most romantic pairing in the 'verse. Easily. And let's not forget, he's a hero. She deserves an equal - so what if he's a little paranoid.
Sirius Black/Kingsley Shacklebolt: Another pairing I fell in love with by writing it. Kingsley is intriguing - almost the only good guy who's ever been witnessed criticizing Dumbledore (for not making Harry prefect), yet the same guy who used an unforgivable curse to save his ass (when Dumbledore's Army was busted). Great guy to challenge Sirius' compulsive loyalty in interesting ways, great guy to be challenged by Sirius.
X-Men Movies
Logan/Ororo Munroe: Jean's pretty, yes, but Storm is right there as well. So there's that. What Logan and 'Ro have in common is that they're both pretty distant people, hard to approach, and that makes for such interesting chemistry. It's easy enough for Jean or Rogue to get Logan when they can read all his manly angst with their gifts, but really it's more interesting when a partner doesn't have that option. I have a thing for Logan/Scott for the same reason.

Date: 2012-06-29 12:20 am (UTC)Darcy Lewis/Bruce Banner - Despite never sharing a scene or even a movie, these two are my obsession of choice for the moment. Darcy is challenging and exciting without being threatening, and Bruce needs someone quirky and happy and alive who won't freak out about the whole 'hulk' thing. You know, the kind of someone who tasers gods and then talks about it on Facebook. Also, in my brain they're the Monica and Chandler of the fandom: the pairing no one saw coming that is absolutely perfect and lovely. They're really a pairing that needs to be experienced to be understood, and the tag page on AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/tags/Bruce%20Banner*s*Darcy%20Lewis/works) is a great place to start.

Date: 2012-06-29 01:18 am (UTC)Kakashi/Gai - they're canonically eternal rivals/friends in the most adorable way, and they make a badass team out in the field.
Anko/Itachi - she's an older, kinkier female Naruto! He's an older, even more uptight Sasuke with a very well-hidden soft spot! Obviously they are made for each other despite never sharing a panel (although they damn well should have - curse Kishimoto for forgetting that she was there with Kabuto). Mostly I think they'd have a really interesting relationship; she's weird enough and has had enough experience with morally questionable things to put up with his worst traits, and he'd probably find it kind of relaxing to be around someone who just doesn't give a shit and will tease him for anything.
Kakashi/Itachi - eh, they were in ANBU at roughly the same time for a little while? And unf. A pairing purely for the pretty.
Anko/Kurenai - they're buddies (Kurenai buys her snacks!), and I love femslash buddyships.

Date: 2012-06-29 11:13 pm (UTC)Evan Lorne/Radek Zelenka: Let's be honest, SGA had a lot of awesome minor and recurring characters. Of these, Lorne and Zelenka, being the seconds-in-command to McKay and Sheppard, probably had the most screentime. I grew attached to them over the first few seasons, and then they had that great moment together in The Game in season 3. There were fics for the pairing here and there amidst all the McShep, then I befriended some of the awesome ladies writing it, and I had a new OTP.
I think one of the main draws of these two for me is that they both appeal to my competency kink. They're both obviously very good at what they do, so while Our Heroes are out blazing trails and getting up to wacky hijinks, Lorne and Zelenka are keeping Atlantis running and Getting Shit Done. To do this, they probably have to spend a fair bit of time together, which I think shows in the few scenes and background moments they have in the last couple of seasons.
I'm never sure how to articulate why they fit together so well in my head. We know that Evan is a painter and Radek used to raise racing pigeons. Evan grew up in San Francisco, while Radek grew up in Soviet-occupied Czechoslovakia. Evan is a level-headed soldier with a little snarky side, and Radek can go toe-to-toe with McKay in science and sarcasm. I could go on with all kinds of details, but the gist is that I think they just plain complement one another. I like the idea of them finding stability in a relationship amongst the uncertainty of life in Pegasus.
I'm
a littlea lot biased, but I'd definitely recommend reading Lorne/Zelenka stories by kisahawklin, gblvr, and meansgirl.DCU comics
Gar Logan (Beast Boy/Changeling)/Bart Allen (Impulse/Kid Flash): In DC, I am all about various incarnations of Teen Titans, and Young Justice. My OTP is Gar/Bart, and I can trace this obsession back to finding works by MsSolo (the one that I'm thinking of in particular doesn't seem to be online anymore). I hadn't seen anyone write the pairing before, but I already had an investment in both characters and somehow hadn't shipped them until that point. Once I saw it, though, I couldn't unsee it.
They both started out as sort of comic relief guys, the goofy little brothers of their respective teams. They're the ones who, even after growing up and changing, often still don't get taken seriously. They've both had a lot of loss. I love the idea of them bonding over these sorts of things and falling for one another. They have awesome potential for light-hearted romance, and equally for serious exploration of what's under the flippant facades the rest of the team rarely bother to see through.
I also ship Gar/Roy for similar reasons, and Gar/Bette Kane because Bette's awesome and they have great chemistry in the Beast Boy mini series from 2000 and the subsequent issues of the 1999-2000 run of The Titans in which they appeared.

Date: 2012-06-30 06:33 am (UTC)Natasha/Pepper: It has a little bit of everything! Natasha worked for Pepper in her guise as Natalie Rushman, so there could be some fluffiness set around then, or there could be angst from that same time period, either Natasha thinking about how she's lying to Pepper or Pepper being conflicted over Natalie and Tony, or there's how Pepper and Natasha would have interacted once she was revealed as Black Widow, or h/c with one of them saving or caring for the other...or smut, of course! Possibilities are limitless! Basically they're just really cute together and I want moar.
Natasha/Loki: Mindfuckery galore. There's some interesting parallels between them - they've both got red in their ledger, they've both done bad things, but Natasha chose to work on the side of good and Loki, well, hasn't, but is that the only difference between them? Plus, there's the fact that she essentially outsmarted him when they were on the helicarrier, and I get the feeling Loki likes (or is fascinated by, more likely) people who can match his intellect. I could see them playing cat and mouse, except both of them would think they were the cat, so to speak. And come on, they'd also be really hot together. Also, they could bond over their shared love of leather!

Date: 2012-07-01 05:15 am (UTC)Ichigo Kurosaki x Tatsuki Arisawa -
To put it simply, Tatsuki is one of my favorite characters. When it comes to her relationship with Ichigo, there is something there that exists nowhere else in Bleach, something that makes it unique. It is hard to describe, but it is summed up when you look at their interactions in the manga as a whole. Tatsuki was Ichigo's first friend, and they have known each other since they were four years old. This is part of the reason why chapters like "Things like Loneliness" and "Winged Eagles" speak volumes in my opinion. What matters for this pairing is not its quantity, but the quality of the interactions, and by god does this pairing have quality.

Date: 2012-07-01 11:09 pm (UTC)Tessa (the Queen of Swords)/Marta
QoS was a short-lived female Zorro series. The relationship between Tessa and Marta, her servant/accomplice/friend, is extremely femslashy. All these earnest looks and stuff. Plus they're both beautiful women.
I expected there to be piles of femslash, but there are two fics and one fanvid. I wrote one of the fics and made the fanvid myself.
The reason is, the actors who played Methos and Kronos are in the series, so all the fans of that pairing followed them to this series and flooded it with m/m slash about their characters. Everyone was so intent on that, that the obvious f/f pairing that presented itself got overlooked. :-(
I have an info page about it here (http://belladonna.org/queenofswords.html), which includes links to both the fanfics and the one fanvid about this pairing.

Date: 2012-07-02 12:26 pm (UTC)So I'd like to suggest. Methos/Joe, Methos/Alexa, Methos/Amanda and Methos/Richie. I'll say Kronos/Methos as well, as while it was fairly popular, I've not found any one archive with over 500 stories on it.
(I know this list is very much Methos/anybody not Duncan, but that's because I know I can write these pairings. Where as if I suggested Tessa/Richie I know I would struggle.)
