Nominations
Nominations are now open HERE.
- For the purpose of this fest, a rare pair will be defined as a relationship that has less than 200 COMPLETED works of 1000 words or greater on AO3.
- In previous rounds of this fest, eligibility was based on fic from any archive. That means we had to check both AO3 and FF.net and any single fandom archives that were brought to our attention. This year, we are only checking AO3. That said, if a relationship had been previously rejected due to being too big on FF.net or a different archive, they are still not eligible. Please do not abuse this. We are doing this in good faith. If we accept a ship that's large on a different archive, and it's brought to our attention, we will remove it.
- Each person can nominate five fandoms and six relationships per fandom.
- Nominated relationships can also include threesomes/moresomes.
- Crossover nominations are welcome. Please nominate them under the fandom "Crossover Fandom" and include in parenthesis the fandom for each individual in the pairing (ex. Harry Potter (Harry Potter)/Sherlock Holmes (BBC Sherlock)).
- Real person fiction (RPF) may be nominated with the following caveats:
a.) Nominated characters must be 18 or older.
b.) Living non-famous persons may not be nominated (for example, someone's wife or child).

1) How are you interpreting Marvel Cinematic Universe? Does that include all of the MCU tv shows as well? If there's a pairing that is in a tv show but not in the films does that mean it is a crossover?
2) In the ineligible list why are marvel and x-men separate categories since X-men is Marvel? This includes in my question about crossovers as well.
3) When you say characters need to be 18+ do you mean they have to be in canon or that when people write it they need to be aged up to 18+. How does this work with characters who have aged somewhere in canon? For example what if a character is mostly underage for a tv show's span but then in like the last season they are now an adult. Or what if the character's age is never stated?
4) How are you separating the Star Wars films, tv shows, and comics or will they all be under one tag? This is also a question for MCU and X-Men.
5) Why are you including any language in the 200 or less count when if I recall anything not in English is accepted for the fest?

2) There isn't any specific reason. I didn't think to combine them when I changed the name from the Avengers to Marvel. X-Men characters of course shouldn't be requested under MCU but as a crossover.
3) This applies only to RPF. If someone wants to request RPF and ask for the people to be underage, they're welcome to.
4) They won't be grouped under one tag.
5) We've never filtered by language.

Not even sure if any of these qualify as rare pairs (since the VLD fandom is super active), but several pairs that are part of Voltron: Legendary Defender have crept into Voltron Force:
Hunk/Keith/Lance/Pidge | Katie Holt/Shiro
Matt Holt/Keith - not sure if Matt Holt appears in Voltron Force
Shiro/Kuro/Keith

I noticed they've been doing that a lot lately in exchanges. Maybe Tsuzuki/Hisoka got mis-wrangled somehow.

Also, under Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Daidouji Tomoyo/Kinomoto Sakura wandered over from Cardcaptor Sakura.
Under X/1999, there are both Shirou Kamui/Sumeragi Subaru (X/1999) and Shirou Kamui/Sumeragi Subaru, the latter of which is wandering into Tokyo Babylon. As far as I know, Kamui doesn't appear in Tokyo Babylon.
Kuzuki Kakyou/Sumeragi Hokuto is under both Tokyo Babylon and X/1999, but I'm not sure which it was originally nominated under.

I hadn't realized X/1999 and Tokyo Babylon were related fandoms. Since I don't recall which the last ship was nominated under, I'll leave it in both.

Typo in this crossover ship:
Clakr Kent (DC Comics)/James Tiberus Kirk (TOS)
Max/Nux and Nux/Max are the same pairing under Mad Max movies.
James Olson/Winn Schott Jr. (Supergirl TV) should be deleted because there's a typo and because the correct version James Olsen/Winn Schott Jr. (Supergirl TV) was nominated.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-07 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)"Leonard McCoy (Star Trek)/Sarek (Star Trek)" isn't a crossover
"Leonard McCoy (Star Trek)/Soval (Star Trek)" and "Leonard McCoy (Star Trek)/Thy'lek Shran (Star Trek)" don't specify which versions of Trek.

I'll ask about them in a clarification post. Thanks.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-07 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)I would like to nominate Leonard/Raphael for TMNT (2007). The canonical shiptag is for all media types, and with filters it yields 229 fics: http://archiveofourown.org/works?utf8=%E2%9C%93&work_search%5Bsort_column%5D=revised_at&work_search%5Bother_tag_names%5D=&work_search%5Bquery%5D=words%3E1000&work_search%5Blanguage_id%5D=&work_search%5Bcomplete%5D=0&work_search%5Bcomplete%5D=1&commit=Sort+and+Filter&tag_id=Leonardo*s*Raphael+%28TMNT%29
But, if you limit it to this specific version of canon, you get 13 -- the majority of which are cases of people just tagging their fics with all the TMNT fandoms they could find: http://archiveofourown.org/works?utf8=%E2%9C%93&work_search%5Bsort_column%5D=revised_at&work_search%5Brelationship_ids%5D%5B%5D=430872&work_search%5Bother_tag_names%5D=&work_search%5Bquery%5D=words%3E1000&work_search%5Blanguage_id%5D=&work_search%5Bcomplete%5D=0&work_search%5Bcomplete%5D=1&commit=Sort+and+Filter&tag_id=TMNT+%282007%29
Would this be okay to nominate?

I submitted minor ships from Wonder Woman (2017). I'm wondering now if you don't want DC movies on their own, but would rather have a "DC Cinematic Universe" fandom to mirror the "Marvel Cinematic Universe" one. If so, I can certainly change the fandom name! I am personally only interested in the Wonder Woman (2017) ships I nominated (not in Diana in ships from other DC movies) but I can make sure to specify that in optional details if you'd rather.

10. Allura/Hunk/Shay - Shay does not belong
11. Allura/Kolivan (Voltron) - Kolivan is VLD
15. Hunk/Shiro (Voltron)- Shiro is VLD
16. Hunk/Vrepit Sal - Vrepit Sal is VLD
There's a couple that I think probably aren't supposed to be there, but they fit characters that exist.

Marvel 616 and Marvel Comics are almost the same fandom, I'm not seeing any reason to make them distinct based on the pairings nominated? It would be like separating Avengers (2012) and Avengers Movies. Marvel Comics is the slightly broader umbrella fandom so you could probably just combine under there.
no subject
616 is just one of the many universes in Marvel Comics, so unless the nominator says that's what they mean, we're inclined to leave them where they are.
